1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of DocuMesh, including our website, software, API, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, uploading a document, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.

2. The Service

DocuMesh provides optical character recognition (OCR) and structured data extraction from business documents such as purchase orders, invoices, bills of lading, and catalogs.

Extracted fields may be exported to accounting platforms (including QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, and Sage) or downloaded as JSON, CSV, or IIF. You are responsible for reviewing extracted data before relying on it for financial, tax, or compliance purposes.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify active users of material changes.

3. Accounts & Security

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Notify us immediately at support@documesh.ai if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend accounts that appear compromised or violate these Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of documents you upload and data you create in the Service. You grant DocuMesh a limited license to process your uploads solely to provide the Service — including OCR, storage of extracted fields, and export to integrations you authorize.

You represent that you have the legal right to upload each document and that doing so does not violate any law, contract, or third-party right.

Original PDF files are deleted after processing as described in our Privacy Policy. Extracted structured data is stored in your account until you delete it or close your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload malware, unlawful content, or documents you do not have permission to process
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or API
  • Use the Service to build a competing OCR product using our outputs at scale
  • Share account credentials or resell access without written permission
  • Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or plan restrictions

We may investigate violations and remove content or terminate accounts as needed.

6. Third-Party Integrations

Connections to QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or other platforms are subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy policies. DocuMesh is not responsible for third-party services.

You authorize DocuMesh to transmit extracted data you explicitly choose to push to a connected integration. You may disconnect integrations at any time from Settings.

7. Subscriptions & Billing

DocuMesh offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period.

Free Tier Limits

The Free plan is available at no charge and includes access to core OCR, review, export, and API features subject to the limits below. No credit card is required to sign up.

  • 25 documents per month — each PDF you upload and process through Scan & Edit, Batch Upload, or the API counts as one document toward this monthly limit
  • Batch uploads: up to 3 files per batch
  • Monthly reset: your document count resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC)
  • When you reach the limit: you must wait until the next month or upgrade to Pro to process additional documents

Pro subscribers receive unlimited documents per month and may batch up to 100 files at a time, along with other Pro features described on our pricing page. We may adjust plan limits or pricing with reasonable notice; material reductions to Free tier limits will be communicated by email or in-app notice before they take effect.

7-Day Refund Policy

If you purchase a paid Pro subscription and are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within seven (7) calendar days of your initial purchase or first upgrade to Pro.

To request a refund, email support@documesh.ai from your account email with the subject line “Refund Request” and include the email address on your DocuMesh account and the approximate purchase date.

  • Eligible charges: the first payment on a new paid subscription or your first upgrade from Free to Pro
  • Not eligible: subscription renewals, subsequent billing periods, or charges made more than 7 days after the original eligible purchase
  • Processing: approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe within 5–10 business days
  • After 7 days: fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law

If you receive a refund for an eligible first purchase, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan and Pro-only features may be disabled.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Features, accuracy, and availability may change without notice. OCR results are not guaranteed to be complete or error-free — always review extracted fields before export.

DocuMesh does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice. Extracted data is a convenience tool only; you remain solely responsible for your books, filings, and business decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCUMESH AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO DOCUMESH IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (disclaimers and liability limits) will survive termination.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version at documesh.ai/terms and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice.

Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Contact & Governing Law

Questions about these Terms: support@documesh.ai

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local law applies.
